Tie Quilt Top

I finally decided on a gray to go between the ties for the Tie Quilt.  I put a wine color border to set off the ties and I found a gray wavy stripe to go around the main center piece.  Here are a few pictures of the top.  I hope you approve.

I have to get the back sewn together. I think I will the same gray wave for that.
I considering the wine color the binding but thinking that the same gray
I used between the ties.
For the quilting, I think just a random stippling will work.
This is for an older unmarried man, I think it looks
rather manly.  The ties were his father's, and he past away this time last year.

Thanks for Reading

I love your tie quilt. I have seen many and I adore your tie setting/placement. This is a new and different idea. Thanks for posting this.

I love the quilt! I also love the sentiment of it, my father passed away two and a half years ago and I have his ties saved in a bag in one of my stash boxes. I have wanted to make something with them as a keepsake but I didn't know what so I love seeing your idea. I don't think I could cut my ties though so I would have to adjust the style a bit. I do say that grey was a great choice as it goes with so many colours.
